How time flies! It’s almost been 2 years ! What fun Teddi has had! I plan to really get back to blogging! Stay tuned! And how those babies have changed! I am ready to begin my Advent adventure for them, an annual gift of love and reminder that Christmas is not only about presents! Of course, they love their secret surprises as well!
Until later,
Teddi
Gosh, the story of how I came to the name of Teddimail goes back to when I first found out I was going to have my first grandchild. I really, really did not want to be called Grandma. My mom was never called Grandma, she was “BeBe”. My grandmother was not called Grandma, she was called “MaGaw”. So I definitely would not go by Grandma.
First, let me say that I would be an “out of town” or “live in another state” or “missing in action” grandmother. Living in Florida with my son and daughter in law in Georgia, I would be 8 and 1/2 hours from the baby! My engaged daughter was living in Knoxville, TN, over 10 hours away! So I had to come up with something clever. I came across a gigantic Teddy Bear that I immediately bought. Growing up with my identical twin sister, our parents nicknamed me “Teddy” for Teri and my sister “Squirt” for Sheri! There it was…I would be called “Teddi”!
So, on Thanksgiving of 2012, I presented the teddybear to the soon to be parents as well as my new grandmother name, Teddi! What a joke my son, daughter, and their spouses made of it! Was I some camisole nightie? What an awful name? I stuck to my guns, though and “Teddi” the grandmother was born.
More of the story is coming….
